Description
The Software Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and leading the development of software for automotive embedded systems. Responsibilities include the planning and monitoring of project issues, requirements, design, implementation and testing as well as coordinating with internal groups to ensure customer requirements are met.
This position requires a high proficiency in planning, monitoring, and leading software development teams as well as the understanding of good development and testing practices. Furthermore, the selected engineer will have a strong ability to communicate and collaborate within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Ability to relocate to West Michigan
- US Citizenship
The following skills are required and will be tested as part of the interview process:
- High proficiency in planning, monitoring and leading software development teams
- Understanding of good development and testing practices
- Ability to communicate and collaborate within Gentex
The following skills and qualifications are desirable:
- Automotive industry experience
- Microprocessor based product development experience
- Software development or software testing experience
- Experience with Agile practices
- Experience with CMMI, SPICE, or DO-178B
