Aonix Appoints Laurent MARES as VP Sales for Europe
MARES joins Aonix after successful tenure at Thales Computers
May 16, 2007 - 17:50 PM
MARES brings to Aonix an intimate knowledge of the embedded technology markets with over 15 years of international sales management expertise. MARES joins Aonix following a successful track record with Thales Computers, where he directed sales for Europe and Asia. He set up and developed Thales’ export sales and network of international distributors, driving the company to new heights in market reach and revenues.
The selection of MARES follows an extensive search by Aonix to identify an executive able to manage Aonix’ growth in Europe while continuing to exceed customer expectations. Building on a long-standing history of success in embedded and safety-critical technology markets, particularly as a leader in Ada development tools and modeling tools, Aonix has recently established worldwide leadership in the developing Java market for embedded and real-time technology. As more industries seek Java technologies for critical systems, Aonix’ PERC product line revenues have doubled each year for the past three years.
“We are very pleased to welcome Laurent to the Aonix leadership team,” said Pierre Cesarini, CEO of Aonix. “Europe is a critical market for Aonix. With Laurent’s strong relationships and extensive experience in the mission-critical space, we look forward to significantly extending our Europe position across all sectors, including military and aerospace industries, transportation, avionics, telecom, industrial control, and network infrastructure applications, where complex, critical requirements are prevalent.”
“I have been attracted by Aonix’s growth plan in the real-time Java and Ada solutions market and by the high value and expertise of its people worldwide,” noted MARES. “Increasing Aonix’ penetration into these markets offers an exciting professional challenge. I look forward to working with Aonix’ European team.”
MARES graduated from the “Institut Supérieur du Commerce” (ISC), Paris, one of the leading French business schools in the “Grandes Ecoles” system. MARES joins Aonix at their new Paris headquarters facility located at 143 bis avenue de Verdun 92130 Issy-les-Moulineaux, France.
