Aonix Expands Its ObjectAda® for Linux Product Line
Port Speeds Development on Host Platform

Aonix now offers Linux development platform support for:
ObjectAda for Linux
native ObjectAda for Linux cross PowerPC/LynxOS
ObjectAda for Linux cross Intel/Linux embedded (to be released shortly)
“Aonix is once again showing its strong support for the Ada95 language by adding new Ada95 products to its offering. We are adding new Ada95 products and in particular adding new products to support the Linux host as a development platform,” noted Greg Gicca, Aonix director of product marketing. “ObjectAda Real-Time for Linux expands our Linux offering as a part of our long range plans to continue expanding our support for the Linux operating system.”
Aonix’s ObjectAda Real-Time Linux cross LynxOS provides the real-time features developers need with full Ada 95 language support. Aonix ObjectAda also integrates a rich set of LynxOS features that collectively support the development of complex networked applications.
This new ObjectAda product offers all the real-time features of LynxOS now hosted on the Linux operating system. LynxOS developers may now take advantage of this newer host platform for more powerful host development options. A primary benefit is the availability of Linux on new generation high-speed Intel processors, which provides a host platform many times faster than older Unix systems.
Along with the benefits of this new Linux host platform, developers may still take advantage of the many powerful features of LynxOS on the target side that were available in the past. These target features include but are not limited to:
PosixWorks interoperability
LynxOS kernel threads
LynxOS MMU
Scalability to full-profile LynxOS support
Ada 95 validated compiler that supports Annex A, B, C, and D
Graphical Motif IDE
Posix
TCP/IP networking
Language-sensitive tools
Flexible stratified packages
Now all these capabilities are available on a Linux host. ObjectAda Real-Time Linux cross PowerPC/LynxOS platform is available now.
