Aonix YTD Revenue Doubles in Real-time Java™ Market
PERC VM sales and service already exceed total 2004 revenue

Revenue increases are due both to increased numbers of customers and to an increase in the average deal size. This year’s PERC sales have spanned multiple industry sectors, including defense, manufacturing, test equipment, office automation, automotive, and communications.
“We are encouraged to see that today’s applications of real-time Java technologies are maturing and starting to maximize the strengths of Java,” commented Kelvin Nilsen, CTO of Aonix. “Many of the customers that we have engaged with in 2005 have considerable experience developing and deploying embedded real-time Java technologies often using products supplied by other vendors. Today’s buyers are much better informed regarding the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches to real-time Java.”

In response to the strong demand for PERC virtual machine products, Aonix is increasing its investments in this product line. Underscoring its commitment to growth in the real-time Java market, Aonix recently announced that Dave Wood has joined their team as PERC Product Marketing Manager. Wood has been involved in leading real-time and embedded systems products and applications for two decades. In the formative years of real-time Java, he acted as industry consortium marketing director tasked with developing a road map for the use of Java in real-time and embedded systems.
In response to increased international interest in Java technology, Dr. Kelvin Nilsen, world-renowned Java technology researcher and Aonix CTO, is scheduled to deliver a series of lectures on implementing real-time Java solutions. His first lecture takes place later this week at Nortel and then in October, he will be in Europe to deliver a series of lectures in Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.
