Course Description
This three day course looks at the practicality of creating and maintaining an effective EA within a 21st Century business through the use of pragmatic modeling, giving you the foundation you need to develop and understand EAs. Three days of training and workshops introduce the concepts behind enterprise architectures, teach the modelling notation needed to effectively realize an enterprise architecture, explore the concepts more fully though a real-life enterprise architecture and give
you experience of developing an EA for an example organization.
Course Objectives
- Provide an awareness of the principles and concepts of EAs
- Describe the structure and content of typical EAs
- Enable attendees to gain experience in the modeling techniques needed to produce an EA
Attendees Will Learn
- The need for EAs and EA best practice
- Key concepts of EA: ontologies, meta-models, processes, requirements, views and viewpoints
- The relationship between EAs and architectural frameworks
- How to model EAs
Pre-requisites
- None
Who Should Attend
- This course is ideal if you want learn about EA, whether because you are producing an EA, are involved in the review of an EA, or simply want to gain an understanding of what an EA is and the techniques that are needed to produce one
Attendees Receive
- A bound copy of all course slides Laminates which describe the main EA concepts
- A copy of the book ‘UML for Systems Engineering’ by Dr. Jon Holt
Course Format
Much of the course involves presentation of key principles and concepts. The final day and a half is a tutor-led, group-based workshop.
