TRAK 103 : TRAK Practioners Course
Course Dates
Course Description
TRAK is an architecture framework, developed for use in the rail industry and sponsored by the UK Department for Transport. It is a standard to promote consistency, interoperability and exchange of architecture models and can be used to represent concepts ranging from high-level business or enterprise goals to the detailed working of a solution, whether an organization or a physical product, and can place the solution in the proper context of an enterprise and its projects.
This three day course starts by giving you an introduction to the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) one of the notations that can be used when producing TRAK views. Day two defines key terms and concepts as embodied in the TRAK meta-model with an emphasis on realizing TRAK views using modeling. An example rail system is used to examine example TRAK views and consideration is given to ensuring consistency between views through modeling. The course concludes on day three with a workshop session during which you gain experience in producing TRAK views.
Course Objectives
- Provide an awareness of the SysML modeling techniques that can be used when working with TRAK
- Provide an awareness of the principles and concepts behind TRAK
